Set in the turn-of-the-century America, this timeless blending of fantasy and reality shows a young girl's struggle for independence. Imprisoned in a tall wooden tower by a witch, Rapunzel allows a young man to climb her unforgettably long brown hair cascading down to him through the midnight air. The witch discovers the nocturnal visitor, cuts Rapunzel's hair, and blinds the young man. He wanders for many years until he is healed by Rapunzel's tears.
